The below illustrates the property before Wade Construction began work, during and after.

The initial task was to remove the original patio and excavate down to create the ground floor basement.

The front garden required landscaping to create a patio area surrounded by bedding and a water feature.

Patio doors were installed into the new kitchen diner which leads directly onto a raised patio. A sheltered area underneath the patio provides a woodstore and further seating area.

The front garden also required extensive landscaping. The sloped soil was turned into an even lawned area through the use of gabian baskets.

Gabian baskets are a cheaper alternative to a retaining wall and support the land enabling areas to become level. Gabian baskets are wire baskets filled with the customer's choice of stone. Mill View's gabian baskets are filled with Yorkshire Stone blending them into the surrounding area. At this property the baskets provide a complimentary boundary wall whilst allowing the garden area to become level. The initial picture below shows a close-up of the baskets where you can identify the wire. As the further two pictures are taken from a distance the wired baskets are hardly visible.
